Social worker. Momma. Married to a good human. City girl who moved to rural Ohio (IDK why. Covid broke my brain.) But, now I can speak on rural, red voters.

My kids are finally old enough for us to get rid of our ratty old couch. Does anyone have a sectional they love? Looking for comfy and doesn’t stain easily.
I’m reading Judy Blume’s biography. What stands out for me is that in the 70s, she’s writing about kids and their burgeoning sexuality, she got divorced twice, and she had two abortions she speaks about publicly. I don’t think she writes and speaks about these things to be revolutionary.
I think she talks about them because she doesn’t believe they’re shameful. That’s what I connected with in her writing when I was a kid: she told us about our bodies, our desires, our humanity in a matter-of-fact way and didn’t shame us about any of it. Little evangelical Morgan needed her so much.
I wish I could make it true for EVERY child, 🌈❤️
Easy peasy
The public high school in the city we’re moving to, where my kids are zoned to attend when they’re older, just posted a statement affirming their LGBTQ+ students and faculty. I feel like I can breathe again. Republican run school districts are so oppressive. I can’t wait for my kids to feel freer.
