I share obscure interviews, hidden details, and promo material for ICO (PS2). I also repost Team ICO community fanart and news. Links to more resources in my pinned post!

The strongest example of a moment carried over from the pitch is the scene where Yorda reaches out to touch Ico's face. In the pilot, this is an animation flex of sorts, because she actually touches his cheek, drags her finger down, and you see his eyelid lightly tugged in a realistic manner.

[Note: I couldn't find a source for the original Spanish of the following interview, so I cannot confirm this English translation's accuracy.] --As a gamer, where do you think the story of The last Guardian is placed?
Despite being interrupted by the arrival of an enemy, this gesture remains in the final game, as a direct reference to the pilot. It's even mentioned in the margins of the scene's storyboard.
Creo que nunca llegué a compartir por aquí estas ilustraciones que hice de ICO, Shadow of the Colossus y The Last Guardian. Supongo que cuando salga Gen Atlas tendré que hacer otra para completar la colección ✨❤️

This is how I pictured a talisman that could double as a wind chime.
