I design public services. Former Chair @betterstreetsforbirmingham.org. Starting a PhD in autumn. Own @a38cycleway.bsky.social. Letโ€™s rebalance our streets for safe and equitable trips from A to B. ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿผโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŸข ๐Ÿ“ Birmingham, UK ๐Ÿ”— https://linktr.ee/martinprice

Does this service really cost ยฃ4 per transaction to run!?
Sorry to the civil servant who's about to receive my FOI request asking for various costs. A 50% rise for a ยฃ2 processing fee feels steep and takes significant money away from transport and clean air improvements.

I shall watch this with interest. There's no way to get 60% of kids actively travelling to school without disrupting current patterns of car-based mobility. This includes making all urban streets safer, not just those right outside schools www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Ministers want 60% of pupils in England โ€˜activelyโ€™ travelling to school by 2035
Reflection on Tip Toe after a few days: I feel the jump between episode four and five was too great and could have benefited from one more episode before the finale to show more radicalisation of Clive. It went from saving someone from being queer bashed to *those* final moments incredibly quickly.

Itโ€™s disappointing that the MA Design Management course at Birmingham City University has been cut. Iโ€™m course alumni - I did it work-based - and the skills taught are incredibly useful to transition from a design degree to the workplace.
Cancelled during the week of Birmingham Design Festival, which the university sponsors, no less.
There are several vacancies for strategic and service designers in the city. This MA produced people who could fill them. And now the education to upskill Brummies in this area wonโ€™t exist.

Interested to see how this progresses, especially if there are any engagement projects around mobility/transport. ๐Ÿ‘€

I wonder how much money this service processes to still look like this.
