Are you working with E-OBS data and wondering how they good is the data when compared to purely national datasets, such as the provided in CAMELS? Then check it out this new piece of work recently published in HESS.
The work was a collaboration with Franziska Clerc-Schwarzenbach!
To start the year, what about this very interesting preprint by my colleague #JuliaRudlang from #TUDelft bringing some insights about the jointly controls of Europeās hydrology.
If you work with #largesamplehydrology this is a must read :)
Working with large-sample hydrology datasets and curious about how maps with varying levels of detail influence the identification of geologyāstreamflow relationships? Check out our latest preprint at HESS!

Are you working in large-sample hydrology?
If so, we invite you to submit an abstract to our session for EGU 2026:
HS2.4.2 "Large-Sample Hydrology: Advancing dataset developments, enhancing process understanding, and unifying insights through catchment modeling"
Are you interested in large-sample hydrologyš§, working with #EOBS, #EStreams, or another European large-sample dataset? š« šŖ
Here, Franziska and I investigated how a standardized European dataset performs for modeling in comparison to high-resolution ones š
We are happy to get your comments! š¬
A new dataset on the water quality in Swiss river catchments is now available. CAMELS-CH-Chem incorporates up to 40 water quality parameters for 115 Swiss catchments between 1981 and 2020 š”

In case someone missed (and is interested), here we have the EStreams website (catalogue): estreams.eawag.ch
Maybe useful for knowing where to download European streamflow data š

Abstract. For large-sample hydrological studies over large spatial domains, large-scale meteorological forcing data are often desired. For Europe, the EStreams dataset and catalogue satisfies this dem...
Abstract. The complex composition of hydrological systems, climates and landscapes makes it challenging to explain and predict hydrological streamflow response. Many previous large-sample studies, mos...
