Contractors working for PBOT have closed one lane of vehicle traffic on SE Thorburn Street between SE 73rd and 74th avenues and are expected to keep it closed periodically through June 30 for construction.
Expect delays, travel cautiously, observe all closures and directions by flaggers, and use alternate routes if possible. Local access to residences and businesses will remain available.
This work is weather-dependent.
This project is funded by House Bill 2017 with a budget of $371,000.
The project design includes the approximately 355 feet of 7-foot wide sidewalk, and some sections with 5-foot wide sidewalk to preserve existing street trees, as well as three new curb ramps at the intersection of SE 74th Avenue.
The closure of one travel lane is needed to build sidewalk on the north side of SE Thorburn Street that will connect to existing sidewalk near SE 73rd Avenue.
Traffic Advisory: Lane reductions on SE Thorburn Street between SE 73rd and 74th avenues for sidewalk installation through June 30
