Madonna/Sabrina Carpenter’s new music video has everything: wirework in heels, wirework with steadicam operators in cyber fetish wear, anamorphic lens flares, intense strobing & nearly as many loud whoosh sounds as it has music. The edits at 02:26 are spectacular.

RIP double Oscar winning special visual effects supervisor, Brian Johnson. He won for Alien & Empire Strikes Back. Of the generation that did all special effects, he alternated between supervising physical effects, miniatures then motion control work and later directed, including CGI.
Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is now 35 years old today. For me, the most memorable shot in the movie is the 3rd person flying arrow. It was created & directed for the teaser trailer by an advertising agency, but made it into the film.

Brian Johnson was the only UK physical SFX supervisor of the original Star Wars trilogy to work at ILM, whom he later brought in for the Neverending Story. He co-owned Arkadon, introducing film motion control to the UK. He also supervised Oscar winning post-VFX on Aliens.
