At the American Medical Association’s annual meeting, members of the group’s House of Delegates sent a clear message to their leaders: Call out RFK Jr. — even if it costs us in the pocketbook.
While they may have no apparent outward cognitive or significant functional effects, it is clear that their presence is made known differently in the brain. And, that’s what you see here. Dark red areas most impacted / darker blue regions less impacted.

People with hypertension (uncontrolled), diabetes, untreated sleep apnea, COPD and other conditions that chronically impact brain microvasculature collect these periventricular white matter lesions and practically no one knows it. These lesions are very common.

But, more specifically, what you are looking at is a 3D-model of the regional impact of chronic ischemic microvascular changes in the brain. Most of these changes occur near the lateral ventricles and impact subcortical brain regions, like the caudate.
