'Companies made open source business-critical. For maintainers [work-life] balance is life-critical.' — I love this! OSS creates value for your employer: the Open Source Resistance says, if you have the power, take matters into your own hands and maintain it on the clock! 🏴☠️
Felt so welcomed by WNB.rb at #HaggisRuby! 💜
Happy to see OSS maintainer burnout in the public discourse—good job Matthew!
'Heath believes governments should invest more in open source' - that she does 😘
Had fun chatting with @richlitt.bsky.social for the @sustainoss.bsky.social podcast! Listen as we meander from kidney donors to forest floor detritus to death doulas, all while somehow keeping it on the topic of open source sustainability and maintainer burnout 🌱
Some incredible in-depth discussion between @vlad.website and @josh.bressers.name on the importance (and challenges) of paying OSS maintainers in this episode of Open Source Security! (PS thanks for the shout-out ☀️) opensourcesecurity.io/2026/2026-04...
Josh has a discussion with Vlad-Stefan Harbuz about the Open Source Pledge as well as his recent FOSDEM talk. The Open Source Pledge is all about trying to build a sustainable universe for open source...

I don't think tech at large understands how hard it is to be an open source maintainer right now. So many great folks are on the brink of burnout. Funding is drying out. We live in a security minefield. Companies think humans are disposable.
If you're a maintainer, we care. You deserve the world.
