Literally we awkwardly stood around, people who had come *from* XIV, as this older player literally spent like 30-45 minutes tearing into XIV and why it ’sucks, and is worse than satan’ and why XI was: ”the best ever, actually”. Like idk man, maybe that's not the best way to introduce newbies.

I like FFXIV. I'm liking FFXI. They're both fun games in their own right, and have a reason and right to exist as seperate products/experiences. I'm enjoying my time with FFXI, but I think even more so in the face of knowing I'll never encounter that player again fjfhfhdhsjkfhdhdhf What a LOSER.

I've been playing a little FFXI recently. But I'll never forget my first experience with it back in like 2022, where me and a few friends were trying to figure it all out, before we met some Vet player. “Oh yeah, it's great that you guys are here. Better than on FFXIV tbh. It's the worst ever.”
