I ran into this in my congressional campaign this year. Several Democratic candidates leaned heavily into bipartisanship.
Bipartisanship with blinders on about the current Republican Party is a fool's errand. It speaks to a fundamentally flawed view of political realities.
Matt Ortega
A party that exalts “bipartisanship” as a value in itself is a party that doesn’t truly value anything. It permits them to avoid making any progressive commitments and avoid accountability when they fail to do anything.
The cynicism it implies and breeds in voters is itself a danger to democracy.
