Some of the replies to this are about signaling and cachet and I think that's generally right. But, a university (or consortia) could make some big, positive noise by announcing the DIY effort Dr. Underwood described.
When these authors say they wrote the report for institutions of higher education to grapple with internally and not as fodder for policymakers, are they being dishonest? Naive? Both?
Who has written (nonfiction) about how the accumulation of extreme wealth corrupts the mind?
