Something people who have never played D&D won't ever understand is that this game is:
1% Flirting with NPCs
2% Playing your hot character
2% Scheduling
95% navigating interpersonal conflicts and constantly working on reminding people to communicate so the table doesn't fall the fuck apart
Like yeah, people online make it look so cool & so easy, but I think people are woefully unprepared because they think it's just tossing their gay little characters in the ring and making out and saying whatever they want, when in reality it's an astounding amount of hard work, especially socially.

The only reason we have a table that just celebrated 6 years together is that we *constantly* check in with everyone. Constantly seek dialogue, constantly remind people to be active, take in people's complaints, have check-ins, & still praying every time this isn't the one talk that breaks it.
kind of annoying how many medical issues in my body can be alleviated by eliminating my "daily stressors" like how tf do I do that when I work 7 days a week and am naturally anxious
