Good that the @ombudsman.europa.eu calls this out. I have been questioning the Commission from the get-go about this, and the answers were nothing but a disappointment. Time to change course!
Als het aan de burgemeesters ligt, stopt #Duitsland met de #grenscontroles. Als het aan mij ligt ook. Dorpen volgestroomd door sluipverkeer, urenlange files, zelfs doden. Vrij verkeer is gewoon een recht, dus laat de Commissie maar doorpakken.

See here the reason for truly independent national anti-corruption organs. Member States should make this a priority for the implementation of the EU Anti-corruption Directive, and the Commission @ec.europa.eu should make it a cornerstone of the new Anti-corruption Strategy.
