EMBO and EMBO Press are making their journals’ finances public to provide transparency and clarity about what it costs to publish articles in high quality, selective journals.
I'd rather have those 3k go to a society journal than a for-profit, but how is it that in microbiology our society journals cost me 3,060$ to publish while chemists pay nothing to publish in any of their ACS journals!?
