I don't know why this is a thing with video game fan TLs in particular anime fansub groups are constantly picking up shows that are already officially licensed or even already being done by another group, and modifying each other's subs, to the point that this has become a meme

i have always been skeptical of the fan translation scene's taboo surrounding retranslating stuff that's "already been done" but especially now that people are rushing out machine translated shit to call dibs on as many games as possible it's time we leave it behind imo
