Loganair boss Luke Farajallah says the decision to temporarily reduce the frequency of some of its flights was one of the "hardest decisions" the airline has made. The move will affect Inverness and Western and Northern Isles services from 19 July.
The Outer Hebrides’ MP has backed the traditional guga hunt of Lewis, and hit out at "neo-colonial" campaigners who want to ban it - and their bird costumes.
Beleaguered Arran ferry, MV Glen Sannox, has been removed from service and will act as one of two “resilience vessels” that will be deployed in the event of vessel breakdowns.
A “crisis point” is approaching on one of Scotland’s furthest-flung outposts which could see the building of undersea tunnels move from pipe dream to reality. Four other airlines in the UK have collapsed in the last nine months, says Scotland's airline Loganair, and the airline must take action to ensure that it does not join them. This statement came as the airline faced protests across the Highland and Islands about cuts in services next month to Orkney, Shetland and the Western Isles from Inverness.
