This week, Edmonton has the honour of hosting municipal leaders from across Canada for the 2026 FCM Annual Conference. We're proud to stand alongside municipalities from coast to coast to coast as we connect and share ideas that will shape the future of our communities. Welcome to Edmonton!
This Seniors Week, we celebrate the many ways seniors strengthen our city. Seniors are the backbone of our communities, sharing their experience and leading through volunteerism and cultural connections. We're grateful for the experience, wisdom and leadership seniors bring to our communities.
Edmonton has an incredible legacy of queer advocacy and community-building, from the landmark Vriend case to leaders like Michael Phair, Alberta’s first openly gay elected official. We honour the people and stories that helped shape rights, advocacy and community far beyond our city’s limits. 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️
Over the weekend, I attended the Hawrelak park reopening. I was thrilled to see so many Edmontonians out enjoying the lakefront promenade, accessible multi-use trails, playground, and dining at Lift Me Up on the Lake. If you haven’t been yet, make sure to plan a visit to Hawrelak soon!
National Indigenous History Month is a time to reflect through an Indigenous lens. amiskwaciwâskahikan (Edmonton) is home to 87k+ Indigenous residents shaping our city. Visit the City's website for June events to listen, learn, and engage with Indigenous culture and history. https://bit.ly/3lY6Oyr
On Rosemary Barton Live this morning with David Common, I spoke about what’s at stake with the proposed referendum this October. Edmontonians want governments to focus on the priorities that affect their daily lives like affordability, safety, healthcare, and education. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

Congratulations to the recruits of Class #160 on reaching this significant milestone. These individuals now join the ranks of Edmonton Fire Rescue Service (EFRS), where members serve the community daily with skill, courage, and compassion in the face of diverse emergencies.
