A dry, clear day, and it’s so nice to be out in my garden at 7.30am. The first of the strawberries are ripe and ready for my little boy to eat when he wakes up 🙂

When your publisher comes to hear you read, and brings a card and a lovely plant to mark the occasion ❤️🥹 Thank you Georgia at @theemmapress.bsky.social - it was great to have you in the audience!
A couple of my favourites from the brilliant John Singer Sargent exhibition at @museumsworcs.bsky.social ❤️ The exhibition closes on Sunday, so you’ll need to be quick if you want to catch it!
Elizabeth Osmond’s Hatchery is brilliant and beautiful, combining medical expertise (Osmond is a neonatal consultant) and fascinating insights into the history of obstetrics with care and sensitivity in their purest forms. A very impressive debut.

‘To those who Appreciate Wisteria and Sunshine…’
A book I’ve really enjoyed recently is Elizabeth von Armin’s ‘The Enchanted April’ - a gentle, funny, life-affirming read about four very different women coming together to spend a month in a castle in Italy. Just lovely.
‘Why is one compelled to write? To set oneself apart, cocooned, rapt in solitude, despite the wants of others. The words […] will penetrate virgin territory, crack unclaimed combinations, articulate the infinite.’
Patti Smith’s ‘Devotion’ - a beautiful and insightful study of the writing process.
Such a privilege to be a part of this project and to have my poem included in this beautiful anthology. Each poem is inspired by the one preceding it, forming chains of conversation. The result is that every poem listens as much as it talks.
Very happy to receive my contributor copy of The Aftershock Review today! Thank you to editor @maxwallis.bsky.social for including three of my poems in the issue. And look at that line-up - I’m in great company 💜
I was greeted by a frog at my front door. This makes me very happy.
Such a brilliant day at the National Writers Conference 2026 💙 All of the speakers were fantastic, and it was lovely to meet up with friends old and new. And the icing on the cake: my book was being sold at the conference bookshop! Thank you @writingwestmids.bsky.social
