I'm in my late 20s and only survived conversion therapy thanks to knowing there was a way out after I turned 18, because of social media. Cutting queer kids off the internet is explicitly the strategy listed in books like "Irreversible Damage" for parents to exercise conversion practices

I'm in my mid-30s. I spent a half-decade of my life knowing that I'm a trans woman but unable to act on it, unable to come out to anyone offline or access the resources I needed. Without support from my online peers, from lesbians and trans people, I would have without a doubt perished.

I'm in my 20s. I grew up with social media. Without that and video games, I would have been so completely isolated. We should be making the world safer for kids, not trying to ban them from it.
