Sobering. At Nevada's two R1 doctoral universities, @unevadareno.bsky.social and @unlv.edu, nominal average salaries for all faculty ranks actual declined by 0.7% from 2024-25 to 2025-26. After inflation, salaries are down by over 4%. Falling behind again.
Huge thank you to Just Money for spotlighting my forthcoming piece. There's still time to alert me to any goofs in the article!

Many thanks to @lseblogs.bsky.social and @tanyaharmer.bsky.social for hosting me last night, and to all the lovely people who braved the rain and tube strike to come hear me hold forth about The Fate of the Americas!

This breaks my heart. What a sudden loss for his friends, his colleagues, his students, and especially his family. Raul was a passionate, brilliant, dedicated, generous scholar and friend. Que fuerte.
