This passage in the Shawcross report also needs to be placed within historical context, i.e. Shawcross' appointment was, like many previous Tory appointments, designed to arrive at a conclusion the govt had already decided on: redirect the state's attain away from right-wing terrorism

After Southampton and now Belfast, this is the passage I keep thinking of the 2022 Shawcross Report, which condemned Prevent for framing 'mildly controversial or provocative mainstream right wing commentary, with no meaningful connection to radicalisation’ as extremism.
