moving from brooklyn to rural france has been interesting i used to see more trans people in any subway car at any time of the day than ive seen in three months living here. rural america has fewer queer people than brooklyn ofc but in any town you can walk into the library and talk to a trans woman
france is not like that. there's so few queer people in rural areas, no community or anything. there was a pride march a couple months back in the biggest town in my departement (about the size of delaware) and a whole 250 people showed up. and that was considered a huge success
