St Leonard-at-the-Hythe, Colchester. Built 12th-13th c, this medieval church once overlooked the busy port of the Hythe on the tidal River Colne. Today the waterfront has long since changed, but the church remains a reminder of the ships, merchants and maritime trade that helped Colchester prosper.
