The conference is always a highlight of the year and we are sure that #RBSCG26 will be no different! We can't wait to welcome you all to St John's College, Cambridge.
For any further information, please contact our Conference Coordinator, Richard, via [email protected].
For librarians, archivists, and anyone working with historic bindings. Participants will experience historic bindings first-hand, including access to the Cathedral library collection. The course will also include sessions on materials and formats, safe handling, and a tour of the Cathedral Library.
The RBSCG conference is attended by special collections librarians, archivists, conservators, museum professionals, students, booksellers and academics. In addition to talks and panel sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to visit libraries and network with colleagues.
#RBSCG26 will consider such topics as how place influences the development of collections, what happens when collections are separated from their origins, and how understanding the significance of place provides a greater degree of relevance.
The notion of collections being more than the sum of the words they contain has been recognised for long enough for it to be something of a cliché. But little collective attention has been paid to the value of place and space in the examination of our libraries and special collections.
We are delighted that Karen Attar's conference paper from our 2024 conference has now been published in extended form in the Art Libraries Journal, 50(4), Oct. 2025: doi.org/10.1017/alj.....
We're sure that #RBSCG26 papers will be of just such high calibre, so don't snooze on booking your place!
