He/him. Pretty queer. Writer when I can actually focus, drone pilot, media enthusiast. Doctor Who stuff happens against my better judgement.

If there's one thing people love, it's having "new social norms" imposed on them.
And here we see Jodie Whittaker doing her best Clara Oswald impersonation, complete with Peter Capaldi as accessory.
World building discourse has ruined large swathes of pop culture media analysis. Harry Potter isn't bad because the in universe economy doesn't make sense, it's bad because it's morally hollow, ethically mean, and in dire need of a better pacing and prose edit.
At best the holes in world building are a good springboard for a new writer, which has produced plenty of good deconstruction oriented media (and bad, too, hi Zack Snyder). But a writer isn't supposed to plug up all the holes, they're supposed to tell you something interesting enough not to care.
Possibly the most exhausting is the people who spend all their time arguing about superhero or fantasy power scaling, to which all I have to say is "go outside, nerd."
The actual reason you couldn't make the Office today is that season 1 is really bad and got poor ratings yet they gave it a chance to evolve and find its audience, and shows nowadays aren't given that chance.
Not caring about Harry Potter for the past decade or so of my life has been a blessing, but it does mean I was today years old when I found out Rowling fucking publicly announced Fantastic Beasts would be a 5 film series without telling ANYBODY that was the plan.
Lol. Lmao. Nightmare woman.
