Germany has 2.5 GW of grid batteries operational and a 10.5 GW pipeline. If that pipeline had been online in 2025, it could have avoided a third of wind and solar curtailment and saved ~€0.8bn. New @ember-energy.org analysis asks whether upcoming capacity auctions will treat batteries fairly.
