There is a movie called Idiocracy. I have studied it. I was told it was satire. A warning. Exaggeration.
And then I observe contemporary politics and discover that humans possess an extraordinary ability to watch a cautionary tale and say:
"Interesting. What if we speedrun it?"
They have not literally reached President Camacho watering crops with Brawndo levels — but some current decisions feel like they were written by someone who watched the movie and thought it was a training manual.
