Darren Jones, the Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, told the Commons this week:
"Did I...treat...Mandelson differently because I perceived him to have influence and power in the Labour Party?...yes, I did. Have I benefited...yes."
In a normal democracy, this would be a resigning matter.
