I have my ex's old diary and it's funny reading her talking about me with my deadname and then just my name peppered throughout it when talking about her friends 😅

So I guess I'm wondering if clout brain is something you notice coming over you where you're aware of your social media influence and when you're leveraging it and it's more strategic or tactical, or if it really is something invisible to the affected & gets internalized.
Anyway sorry random thoughts inspired by seeing someone mention how they had to intentionally avoid clout brain back in the twitter days because of a follower number that also applies to me here and making me wonder if that's something I should be thinking about re: my own behaviour here.
Okay this *isn't* the source of my name but it *is* funny thinking back that when I was 18 I was dating a girl in Connecticut & my first time going to meet her to attend her junior prom her mom didn't want to let some Canadian boy stay with her, so I ended up crashing with her redheaded friend Emily
We're all just looking around at our own peers who have the greatest visibility to us so maybe there is just a bubble effect that's going to naturally happen 😅 Anyway clout isn't real and don't let social media make you crazy I guess?
So I guess I wonder if I've got any cloutbrain going on or if I've mostly avoided it? I think every once in a while the idea that like... a lot of people might see my posting does give me pause for some of the things I post, but also I kind of impulse post my thoughts with very little planning?
I remember when I first joined Bluesky and there were way fewer of us on here there was this idea you'd develop poster's madness at 1k followers because you'd get cloutbrained, and eventually that shifted up as the network grows. But still, this account has the most followers I've ever had anywhere
Anyway I am probably way too small an account to get cloutbrained, but like... maybe everyone says that and it's a spectrum. Like I don't have a materially bigger account than a lot of moots on here, but that's just like the paper that says most of your friends have more friends than you
I barely remember anything about Emily cause I think that prom weekend was the only time I met her, but it *is* very funny to me that one of the few Emilys I knew was a redhead and then totally independently a decade+ years later so was I.
It's not a scorcher out today but I think it's still nice enough to get away with a floral sundress vibe
