It came back with his baby.
Amazing! 🤩
I crossed it on a motorbike during a road trip, simply out of curiosity. Despite being made of bamboo, it felt sturdy enough.
The bowl decorated with a ring of stylized faces was a piece that really caught my attention at Lima's Municipal Museum.
Simple in design but interestingly expressive.

A striking African mask at the Royal Ontario Museum.
What caught my attention most was the bird perched above the face, with a snake-like form passing across the mouth.

Excited to start my ancient coin collection! 🤩
I just acquired two Phoenician bronze coins from Gades (Cádiz, Spain), dating to c. 200–100 BC.
They depict Melqart, the chief god of ancient Gades and protector of trade and seafarers, with two tunas on the reverse.

First morning in Winnipeg, 6:30 a.m., coffee in hand, and I looked out the window to see a deer calmly standing in the yard.
I definitely wasn't expecting wildlife to be part of breakfast on day one!

Another striking African mask from the Royal Ontario Museum, following the one I posted yesterday.
This one caught my attention for the animal figure perched above the face and the blending of human and animal forms throughout the piece.

Following yesterday's post, here's the second coin from my first ancient coin purchase: an As of Gades (Cádiz), c. 100–20 BC.
The obverse shows Hercules (identified by the Phoenicians with Melqart), while the reverse features two tunas, a symbol of Gades' fishing trade.

A bamboo bridge over the Mekong River in Cambodia.
It is dismantled and rebuilt every year as the river level changes with the seasons. Despite its appearance, it is strong enough to carry cars, motorcycles, and even trucks.
Second photo in the thread.
