Excited that this paper, led by former PhD student Natalia Varela (based on her dissertation), is now out! We use the occurrence & characteristics of thin, silty turbidites from the Ross Sea to interpret Antarctic Bottom Water outflow since ~3.3 Ma. agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/...
Fantastic work by Aidan Starr, @ianhall.bsky.social & colleagues published in Paleo Paleo yesterday: Subsurface-to-deep C isotope gradients in the Southern Ocean across the MPT! agupubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1029/...

Another great week at the Climate and Cryosphere Open Science Conference in Wellington. Enjoyed facilitating the Paleoclimate sessions with three other ECRs & got some useful feedback on our work reconstructing oceanographic conditions in the Ross Sea during Pleistocene interglacials 🇦🇶 #NSFFunded

Great study that provides insight into ocean oxygenation during a past warm climate 🤩
A great week in Wellington at the International Sedimentological Congress where I presented my Miocene record of bottom water changes at ODP Site 1123. I enjoyed learning about all of the research being done using sediments from around Aotearoa and connecting with researchers from NZ and overseas.
