Camp so far has been giving me a lot of reason to go back and look over parts of my draft I feel really good about. Of course even in those areas I can keep making improvements, and it motivates me to do the work I have to to make more of the book be "the parts I feel really good about"!

Absolutely my favourite part is writing character dialogue. There's no question of that, I just love digging into and finding characters' voices and seeing how they interact in my head.
The hardest thing for me is usually working in environmental descriptions.

Suppose I can answer the main and bonus prompts at once here! In my draft, there's a moment when I think the reader will understand completely why Verity has just done something terrible, while simultaneously understanding just how much the other character in the scene hates her for it.

I've never taken part in something like this before, putting my project out for so much public view, so that in itself is something I know was a new accomplishment for me here.
As much as I know it's come to be important, using social media like this just doesn't come naturally to me.

It's definitely true that I have a solid understanding of my book's ending down. What's left for me to really figure out is how (if at all) I finalize it as the duology I imagine it being.
Where "Book 1" ends, that's settled. How the rest fits in, well... still working through that.

Verity's typical break day is gonna see her going about through every room in the theatre she and her dad run. Check in with everyone in their troupe, see how the set design is going, what needs work in the scripts for their latest developing shows—just be the person she was in the past.

Some of my big visual influences include Dishonored and MYST! Here's a quick look at a little of what I mean by that.

It's a rare moment that I feel came together just about perfectly. My confidence there is coming from how even I feel like it's difficult for me to be completely on Verity's side in that moment. But then, even SHE'S not fully on her side there.
