Lee Raymond was "known for being an outspoken skeptic of global warming," but "searches of Exxon Mobil's archives showed company leaders knew of the risks and downplayed them." #ExxonKnew
Big Oil should not be above the law.
"Granting immunity to oil and gas companies is immoral and would further harm people across the country who are already burdened by surging electricity bills, higher property insurance, and unaffordable health care costs," said @repbonamici.bsky.social.

✍️ Join us in urging Congress to protect our ability to hold Big Oil corporations accountable for their climate lies:
🚨Fossil fuel-backed groups are trying to influence judges who could preside over climate lawsuits against Big Oil.
As a fracking executive, Energy Secretary Chris Wright spoke to private audiences of judges at least 3 times at events whose sponsors have funding ties to Exxon, Koch, and Leonard Leo.
Big Oil's political allies are attempting to discredit the dozens of climate lawsuits facing the industry.
"If judges are led to believe that the cases are somehow too political, or that climate science is sketchy," they'll be less likely to rule against Big Oil, said CCI's @kertdavies.bsky.social.
Giant hailstones are on the rise, and Big Oil is to blame.
A new study finds that "global hail damage potential could rise by 36.5% to 42.1%" by the end of the century. 😑
Big Oil has known for decades that its products would fuel worsening climate disasters, but lied. It's time for accountability.
“The American people deserve a Department of Justice that fights for us, and it’s a tremendous shame that Trump’s DOJ would rather sell us out to Big Oil," said Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison @ag.state.mn.us
The Trump administration is suing Minnesota in an attempt to block the state's case against Big Oil from moving toward trial.
Their legal arguments are "vague,” “unripe,” and “flimsy,” and should be dismissed, argues Minnesota's @ag.state.mn.us.
Minnesota deserves its day in court. ✊
Big Oil's front groups and allies are attacking climate science that could help hold fossil fuel companies accountable.
“The goal is to keep attribution science out of court. We see a pattern of that. And what is the ultimate reason for that? To shield the fossil fuel companies from liability.”
DOJ just sued Hawaii & Michigan to block climate lawsuits against oil companies. Exxon knew for decades. Now the feds are running interference for them. This is what captured government looks like.

An emerging field of research that can measure how much climate change has worsened individual disasters is under attack by friends of the fossil fuel industry. Billions of dollars are at stake.
Big Oil is trying to get Congress to give them blanket immunity for their climate crimes. As climate disasters like floods, fires, and hurricanes intensify, our communities are paying billions to dea...
