On 30 May 2026, the Convention on Cluster Munitions marks 18 years since its adoption in Dublin in 2008. And today, the Regional Workshop on Universalisation of the CCM for Asia and Pacific States is ongoing in Vientiane, Lao PDR, hosted by the Lao PDR Presidency of the 3rd Review Conference.
I was there in Dublin in 2008 as head of the @minesactioncan.bsky.social delegation. It was a joyous moment & the Convention on Cluster Munitions has saved lives & livelihoods for tens of 1000s of civilians in 100s of communities around the world. In case you can't tell I am a wee bit proud of that.
