“Obsession” filmmaker Curry Barker is riding high after the box office success of his original indie that was scooped up by studio suitors and ended up making a killer profit in the process, given the film was only made for $750,000, and the global box office tally is already up to $287 million. There has already been early chatter of where the universe could be going in spin-offs or even with a follow-up like “Obsession 2,” although those talks haven’t officially started as Barker is busy with his next film, “Anything But Ghosts,” and has been enlisted by A24 to make a “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” reboot.
