On 24 May 1798 the United Irishmen of Kildare, Meath & Dublin rose in rebellion. By 27 May the rebellion had reached Monaseed, Co. Wexford where 18 year old Miles Byrne assumed command of the local corps. He is the only United Irishman to ever be photographed. www.dib.ie/biography/by...
