Lifelong artist. Just trying to do a little more painting when not gardening. Not actively looking for sales.

Newnham Mill Pond, Cambridge, a quick pastel of a favourite location (from 30 years ago). No AI was involved in creating this image (just a little squaring up and cropping of the photo of the original).
Another Cambridge umbrella sketch (not recent) from scans stored on an old pc. I've been sitting in the studio at the end of the garden surrounded by teeming rain and thunder and lightning. Really heavy rain!
This is another Gosport watercolour but it was done on a small beach looking across the water towards old Portsmouth. Might be on the same day in 1993 that the previous painting was done. I've just been told I have to frame this one for someone's birthday.🖼️
String quartet, small oil painting 1999, sold to a lady years ago who has other paintings of mine.
Having looked through some archive folders for old artwork I have some new photos to share. This fairly large old sketch was done at Gosport Falkland Gardens 1994 and it includes the statue of Lord Fieldhouse, Admiral of the Fleet plus some tall ships off the coast (see alt text)
Another old painting from the archives. This watercolour dates from around 1964 when I was still at school and I don't remember the location. I might have just made it up. This is a survival from a heap of artwork from when I was a child but most of them disappeared. Glad to have one or two left!
A watercolour sketch of All Saints' Passage in Cambridge from 2000. Although much is unchanged the classical-style building behind the lady in the blue skirt has gone (the old Cambridge Music Shop), replaced with an ornamental gateway going through to Corfield Court (St John's College)
Looking for a particular painting yesterday led me to look through some more older work. This gouache (or more likely poster paint) of #Portsmouth dilapidation probably dates from the early to late '60s, possibly from when I was still at school.
A couple of watercolour drawings done on the same day in 2014. I still have these. The location is the Southacre conservation area in Cambridge where there is a small chalk stream separate from the Cam which runs along nearby. I enjoyed that day.
I took a new photo of this old watercolour drawing yesterday. It's another #Portsmouth one from 1992, completed sitting on the Portsea foreshore with the Gosport ferry waiting to depart and a couple of bait-diggers in their wellies.
