De'Aaron Fox has been huge in getting the Spurs to this point. But just some flabbergasting decisions from him over the past three quarters of this series.

“I hope it leads to them being hungrier than they've ever been,” Mitch Johnson said.

Jeremy Sochan celebrating an NBA championship at the Frost Bank Center, just as everyone predicted
Calculated today that I've written 64 days in a row, dating to the end of the regular season. Not complaining, but it's been a while.
The most consequential decision of the Spurs' offseason is also the easiest. They will back up the Brinks truck for Wemby and an extension that will make him the highest-paid player in club history. On that, and other items on the team's summertime to-do list: www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...

Wemby’s too soft. Mitch Johnson’s in over his head. Can’t win a title with Fox. It takes just a few rough June minutes to turn those narratives into basketball gospel. The Spurs might spend years trying to prove them wrong. Or they can start Saturday. www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...

From pain comes perseverance. From frustration comes fight. From disappointment comes determination. After a magical season gone up in smoke like a puff from Jeremy Sochan's victory cigar, that is the Spurs' hope anyway. On what comes next for Wembanyama, Spurs: www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...
Late Wednesday night, after the Spurs had suffered unmitigated heartbreak at the Garden, Keldon Johnson approached each player remaining in the locker room and whispered a single word: "Believe." Belief is all the Spurs have left. It still might not be enough. www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...
“We still have this belief because we've seen it." Of the 38 teams in Finals history to fall in a 3-1 hole, only one has bounced back to win a championship. For a Spurs squad looking to fight back against New York, the 2016 Cavs stand as the lone beacon of hope. www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...

The De'Aaron Fox discourse is unfortunate. First two rounds, Fox averaged 18.8 points on 46.2% FGs, shot 34.6% 3s. Spurs went 8-3 in those games. Fox misses first 2 games of WCF with ankle injury that we all saw, then comes back and shot 35.3% FGs, 24% 3s.

One word sums up the Spurs' approach to a do-or-die Game 5: 'Believe.'
Down 3-1 in the NBA Finals after blowing an historic lead in Game 4, the Spurs' season is on life support as series shifts back to San Antonio.
